Updated industry protocol and insurance requirements mean it is essential you have an allergy alert test prior to your colour appointment. Instead of coming into the salon for repeated tests, you can choose the ColourStart Passport — a quick and easy test you do once at home, at least 5 days before your colour appointment.

In-Salon Testing & Screening Questions
While we would prefer you opted for the ColourStart system, we do still offer in-salon allergy alert tests. This needs to be performed 48 hours before your colour appointment for all new clients, those who are having their hair coloured after a 6+ month absence from colouring, and those planning to change their colour.
We will apply some of the chosen shade behind your ear (left for 48 hours) or your arm (left for 45 mins). It can then be rinsed off and the result observed for 48 hours to check for any irritation or sensitivity. We will also ask you some screening questions (which are documented) prior to starting your hair colour service for each visit.
Should you experience any signs of irritation, reddening, swelling, or inflammation, please contact us. If you develop symptoms that make you unwell, please contact a medical professional.
